Vandra is a platform for outdoor adventures: plan multi-day trips on the website, take them with you in the app, and log the animals you encounter. This Privacy Statement explains what data we collect, why we collect it and how it is used and protected. Vandra is based in The Netherlands.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address and profile picture, if you choose to provide them.
  • Trips and content: the trips you create or save, including stages, notes and photos.
  • Animal observations: species, date and location of the animals you log.
  • Location data: used to show your position on the map and to find trips near you. Your live location is not stored on our servers.
  • Device and usage data: information about your device and how you use the app, collected to improve the service.

3. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics (website): anonymous statistics about how visitors use the website.
  • Mapbox (app): provides the map in the app.
  • Mixpanel (app): helps us understand how the app is used, so we can improve it.

4. How we use your data

Your data is used to provide and improve the Service: saving and syncing your trips, showing your position on the map, personalising suggestions, answering support questions and improving the app and website.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data is only shared with the service providers listed above, insofar as needed to run the Service, or when legally required.

6. Data storage and security

We take commercially reasonable measures to protect your data. No internet transmission or electronic storage is ever 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

You can:

  • Access, update or delete the personal data we hold about you.
  • Delete your account and associated data yourself in the app.
  • Object to or request restriction of processing.

8. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. Changes are published on this page, so check back occasionally.
